Congratulations to Mr. Adam Sakel, Airport High School social studies teacher, for being named a finalist for National History Teacher of the Year!
In August, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History announced that Mr. Sakel was awarded Michigan History Teacher of the Year. He then advanced to the national-level competition.
This week, Mr. Sakel became one of 10 teachers from across the country selected as a national finalist. The winner is expected to be announced next month.
