MCCC's Criminal Justice program and the Michigan State Police jointly hosted the new Monroe County Law Enforcement Youth Academy from June 20-23. The Youth Academy is designed for individuals for individuals age 17-21 who want to find out if a career as a police officer, deputy sheriff or state trooper is for them..
Participants were mentored by MSP troopers and officers from other local agencies and got hands-on experience through activities like moderate physical fitness, patrol activities, first aid and CPR training, defensive tactics and crime scene investigation.
