City of Monroe issued the following announcement on Apr 13.
National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones.
In Michigan, there were a total of 90 fatalities resulting from work zone crashes from 2016-2020. Over the same period (2016-2020), there were 4,050 fatalities nationwide.
Please use extra caution in work zones this week and always.
