City of Monroe issued the following announcement on Nov 4.
Congratulations to the Monroe Police Department City of Monroe, MI on their Accreditation Award, presented by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police at this past Monday night's council meeting.
MPD is now one of only 40 accredited departments in the State of Michigan.
Accreditation status represents a significant professional achievement for a police department, and is a multi-year process acknowledging the implementation of written directives, policies, and procedures that are conceptually sound and operationally effective to deliver professional police service.
Congratulations to Chief Charles F. McCormick IV, the accreditation team Captain Dickerson, Captain Wall and Lieutenant Herrick, and the staff at MPD!
