We are pleased to announce that River Raisin National Battlefield Park, in partnership with the Monroe Intermediate School District, are the 2021 Historical Society of Michigan State History Award Recipients for Education: Educational Programs—"Virtual Field Trip Partnerships".
River Raisin National Battlefield Park and Monroe County Intermediate School District combined existing interpretive, administrative and technological assets to produce an entertaining, historically rich series of spring 2021 virtual field trips. Primarily focused on Michigan Territory in the early 19th century, the presentations adhered closely to State social studies standards and generated enthusiastic participation by approximately 2,300 students in 88 classrooms.
