City of Monroe issued the following announcement on July 21.
You may see a few artists around town today as the third week of ‘Duncanson Plein Air Paint Out' is underway!
In honor of the bicentennial of his birth, the Robert Seldon Duncanson Committee is hosting these ‘Duncanson Plein Air Paint Out’ opportunities celebrating Duncanson’s life and achievements.
The events are held on four consecutive Wednesdays in July. Artists compete for cash prizes (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) as they paint local homes, buildings, the River Raisin riverfront, Lake Erie, the River Raisin/Lake Erie harbor, parks, and people, both inside and outside the City limits.
Stop by and say hello to one of these great local artists and check out their works in progress!
