Sen. Dale Zorn (R-Ida) recently posted on Facebook observing National Tradesmen Day and Michigan Trails Week.
National Tradesmen Day is observed on the third Friday in September, and it honors the men and women who work in professional skills trades.
Michigan has a a sizeable professional trades shortage, which is expected to continue through 2026.

Professional trades will account for more than 545,000 jobs in the state's economy, and approximately 47,000 new job openings are expected annually in the state through 2026.
Michigan Trails Week is being celebrated Sept. 20 through Sept. 27 this year, highlighting Michigan Trails and encouraging Michiganders to hit their favorite trails or try new trails for the first time.
"This week is Michigan Trails Week! Celebrate our state's beautiful trail systems at one of the many events at state parks and other venues during Michigan Trails Week. Michigan has more than 13,000 miles of recreational trails, including waterways, footpaths, rail trails, ORV trails and more," said Zorn on his Facebook post dated Sept. 20.
