Dundee Community Schools issued the following announcement.
Dundee Community Schools encourages everyone to complete the 2020 U.S. Census survey. Census data is not simply counting the population, but rather it determines funding for the next ten years for vital programs in our community, including schools.
While most of the funding to operate schools comes from the state of Michigan, several programs at Dundee Community Schools are reliant upon federal monies, such as: special education, Head Start, Title I for at-risk students, national school breakfast and lunch programs, improving teacher quality, and career and technical education (i.e. – agri-sciences and construction trades)—just to name a few.
DCS is your partner in education, and we need your help. April 1st began the official start of the 2020 U.S. Census. If you haven’t already completed your survey, we ask that you do this right away. If you have submitted your information, thank you. The future of our district’s special programs is counting on you.
