Return of a second school resource officer to the school district beginning later this month

The Dundee Police Department and Dundee Community Schools are pleased to announce the return of a second school resource officer to the school district beginning later this month.

Dundee Police Officer Jeff Corie (pictured below) will be joining Officer John Schiappacasse on the campus daily.  Officer Corie will work out of the Middle School and Elementary building, while Officer Schiappacasse will be stationed at the high school and Riverside Academy.

Officer Corie retired from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office after 25 years of service. While there, Officer Corie worked patrol, drug enforcement, investigations and most recently served as the school resource officer and DARE Officer at Summerfield Schools.

Through a mutual agreement between the village and school district, the school resource officers are funded by the school district for their time while at school or after school activities.

We are pleased to welcome Officer Corie to the Village of Dundee Michigan and are confident that with his added presence, Dundee Schools will continue to be a very safe place for students, staff and visitors.

Have a safe year Vikings!
