Happy retirement

Monroe Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec 21.

At the end of the month of December, the City of Monroe Police Department is going to have 4 members of the department retiring.   We continue in looking back and saying Happy Retirement by introducing Cpl. Dino Mancini.

Cpl. Mancini was born in Detroit and resided on The Upper East side until 1978 when his family moved to Eastpointe (formerly East Detroit) when he was 13 years old.

Cpl. Mancini attended East Detroit HS and graduated in the class of 1983. Later that same year, Cpl. Mancini enlisted in the Marine Corps and entered into the service in December of 1983. In the Marine Corps, Cpl. Mancini’s occupational specialty was a cryptologic technician (signals intel) in which he was trained in Pensacola, FL and then stationed in Hawaii thereafter. During his time in Hawaii, Cpl. Mancini was deployed twice to Japan and once to S. Korea. Cpl. Mancini received 2 letters of commendation during his enlistment.

Upon discharge from the military in 1987, Cpl. Mancini soon attended school for electronics for 2 years and then serviced computers for various Ford Motor Co. buildings in Dearborn for approximately 5 years.  Cpl. Mancini began his law enforcement career with the City of Detroit Police Department in Jan 1995.

In 1998, Cpl. Mancini moved a little further South and began his employment with the Monroe PD in which he worked road patrol until 2018.

In 2018, Cpl. Mancini assumed the position of the evidence room/court officer, a position he holds to this day.  Upon retirement, Cpl. Mancini will be employed on a part time basis as a civilian with the Monroe PD managing the evidence room.
