BEDFORD STUDENTS EXCEL IN HOSA EVENTS

Bedford Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec 22.

HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) is one of the career focused extracurricular opportunities offered at Bedford Public Schools. HOSA works to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of high school, post-secondary and middle school students interested in healthcare.

BPS students recently competed in the HOSA Virtual Regional Conference.

Bedford High School’s HOSA advisor, Mrs. Jennifer Regalado, was proud to report that nearly 80% of the participants qualify to compete at the next level, “Of the 27 Bedford High School students that competed in the HOSA Virtual Regional Conference, 21 students placed in the top 10 in their event, with 17 of those students placing in the top 3! The top 10 now qualify for the State Conference scheduled to take place in February in Traverse City.”

JUNIOR HIGH’S ROOKIE HOSA TEAM ENJOYS SUCCESS!

This year, Bedford Junior High School started a brand new chapter of HOSA. Nine students did outstanding work on their chosen events and are now qualified to compete at the State Conference in February!

BJHS HOSA First Place winners were:

Riley M. in Math for Health Careers

Emmalee I. in Health Career Preparation

BJHS HOSA Second Place Winners were:

Sawyer P. in Math for Health Careers

Chloe W. for Career Preparation

Advisor Ms. Kelly remarked on how proud she is of this rookie team’s efforts, “These kids had tons of fun, and did well! I am so glad to be a part of this group, they work hard and have such determination to do well and be a part of HOSA and our team.”

Ms. Kelly also expressed thanks for the two of the high school HOSA members, Ilana R. and Hussein J., for their mentoring of this inaugural group of BJHS HOSA students.
