Felina Nicolas Bunales
June 1, 1931 - October 25, 2020
Felina Nicolas Bunales of Plano, Texas joined our creator on October 25, 2020 with her loved ones by her side. She was born in Manila, Philippines on June 1, 1931.
Felina earned her degree in Education at the University of the East in the Philippines. The steppingstone to her venture was her first job at the American Undergarment Manufacturing. A great concept she took seriously that inspired her to later take a vocational course in sewing at E. Rodriguez Institute. All of these turns of events prompted her to start her own business in 1975, Bunales Garment Manufacturing, which is still in existence to this day. She was a woman with conviction, motivated and driven to make the business flourish, mainly inspired by her ultimate dream to provide her children a bright future. In tandem with our Dad and older siblings, this humble venture will remain her legacy.
In 1988, she migrated to the United States and landed a job as a pattern designer for Olga Warnaco. She retired after 17 years and dedicated her life to her husband and children, traveling and building memories. She was a woman with an exceptionally big heart with the tendency to support you all the way no matter what. She was a pillar of the family, our source of strength and comfort when times were tough. She was a mother to all, intrinsically had the right words to say in any predicament or challenges that came our way. Kindness was second nature to her, selfless, stops at nothing to make things better for everyone, a symbol of hope and unshaken faith in the Lord, but most of all, an exemplary mother and grandmother to all of us. The unconditional love, care and sacrifices she unselfishly endured are relics that will live on to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and to many whom she had touched their lives. It is undeniably difficult to cope life without her, but we will continue to live by her words of wisdom as she will remain in our hearts, forever.
She was a loving and dedicated wife to the late, Alfonso Bunales; an affectionate mother to Boy and Helen, Tes and Wennie, Arlene and Alex, Ruel and Celia, Dennis and Doralyn, and Cheryl and Pchi; a doting grandmother to Tater and Kat, Tatum and Clara, Al, Darlene and Marvin, Christian, Nicole and AJ and Margaux; a remarkable great-grandmother to Kirsten and Joshua; and a caring and loving sister, aunt and wonderful friend. She was “Mommy B” to all her children’s friends and “Fely” to her friends. She was a vibrant woman who always went out of her way to help others - warm, compassionate, generous and a proud and dignified woman who had a passion for life.
