MONROE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE: MCCC Makerspace to Host Free Virtual Workshop

Monroe County Community College issued the following announcement Oct. 20.

The Monroe County Community College Makerspace will host a free virtual workshop titled “Make & Innovate” on Thursday Oct. 29 from 3 to 3:45 p.m.

The workshop will feature guest speaker David Ollila, a systems thinker, entrepreneur and innovator who holds 16 patents in the areas of hardware and technology. At the workshop, he will describe what it takes to develop products and become an entrepreneur.

In addition, attendees will learn how facilities like MCCC’s new Makerspace can help individuals grow ideas from concept to prototype. A virtual tour of the Makerspace will also be provided.

The MCCC Makerspace is a community gathering place located in the college's Career Technology Center for individuals to share skills and equipment while imagining, exploring, creating designing with people of shared interests. The Makerspace provides access to the information, tools, software and space community members need to invent and make.
