A Trump campaign communications official spoke on "The Steve Gruber Show" earlier this week about former Vice President Joe Biden's son's connections with Russia and China.

Marc Lotter, the director of strategic communications for the 2020 Trump Campaign, spoke with Gruber, saying that there were so many questions following the recent "smoking gun" e-mail that revealed Biden had been introduced to a Ukrainian businessman associated with Burisma while Hunter Biden worked for the company.

"And there's so many questions that this follows," Lotter said on the podcast. "But the first one is: why did Joe Biden lie to us? Why did Joe Biden lie to America on multiple occasions to say he never had any conversations with his son about his business interests? Didn't know about his business interests, when we now know that that wasn't true? Part of that article also indicates that an Obama administration conference call was shared, leaked to Burisma through their PR firms and things. I mean, this just flies in the face of everything that Joe Biden has told us. As it relates to his business dealings, the shady business dealings with his son, Hunter."

Lotter said the situation is "shady as heck."

"And it just follows on what we've already known," Lotter told Gruber. "I mean, not just with Burisma. And why did Burisma hire Hunter Biden -- with no experience in the country, no experience in the industry, didn't even know the language -- for this lucrative job?"

Lotter also questioned why China would pay Hunter Biden $1.5 billion mere weeks after he had gotten off Air Force II with Joe Biden, who was then the vice president of the United States.

"Why is the mayor-- the wife of the former mayor of Moscow, a Russian oligarch, transferring money to Hunter Biden and wiring it to him?" Lotter said on the podcast. "I mean, this is all shady and this is just the tip of the iceberg because what we can now prove is that Joe Biden knew and he lied to America about it."

Lotter said it doesn't matter if Joe Biden doesn't remember that he had been introduced to the Ukrainian businessman, because he could've confirmed it before answering the American people.

"This is not like it was suddenly sprung on him. He has been asked these questions repeatedly over and over again," Lotter told Gruber. "And the fact that he stuck to his lie, that he did not talk to his son about his business dealings, that his son's business dealings had nothing to do with his official duties. And the one thing I think we've got to remember, this was happening while he was vice president of the United States of America. This is not stuff that happened in the private sector, not stuff that happened outside of office. He was the sitting vice president and in charge of the Ukraine policy for our country while all of this was going on."
