After the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) approved an expansion for Heidtman Steel Products, which would allow a project in Bedford Township and Monroe to generate a $9.1 million investment and 65 jobs in the local area, Sen. Dale Zorn praised MSF's efforts, according to a press release from MiSenateGOP.
Heidtman Steel Products received a $325,000 grant to expand and partner with TNT, a tubing company, for a project that would purchase a tube mill.
“This is great news during a tough time,” Zorn (R-Ida) said in the press release. “The added jobs and investment will be a real shot in the arm for Monroe, Bedford Township and surrounding communities. I applaud Heidtman for its longstanding commitment to our part of the state and thank the MSF for its trust and support.”

Bedford Township has also offered to give the company a 50% property tax abatement as a way to support the project.
