Rep. Jamie Thompson, a Michigan state legislator, addressed school funding and legislative accountability in a series of posts on X between August 21 and August 23, 2025.

On August 21, Thompson emphasized the importance of factual information by stating, "Real numbers matter". The following day, she sought to reassure parents about the status of school lunch programs and additional financial support for local schools. In her post dated August 22, Thompson wrote: " Parents — let’s clear the air: Free school lunches ARE protected under the House budget, and Woodhaven-Brownstown schools are set to receive an extra $9 million to support students. @WBSDStrong".

On August 23, Thompson commented on the state's budget process and legislative compensation. She stated: "If Michigan politicians cannot get a budget done- stop their paycheck.
