Rep. Jamie Thompson, an active voice on social media, recently addressed several key issues through her Twitter account. Her tweets from late June 2025 reflect a focus on border security, church safety, and Second Amendment rights.
On June 20, Rep. Thompson expressed gratitude towards Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and John James for hosting a Secure Our Northern Border Roundtable in Detroit. In her tweet, she acknowledged their efforts by stating "Thank you @KristiNoem Secretary of Homeland Security and @JohnJamesMI for hosting a Secure Our Northern Border Roundtable in Detroit today!".
Two days later, on June 22, Rep. Thompson turned her attention to the safety of churches amid rising violence concerns. She urged religious institutions to remain vigilant and prepared with the message "Churches please stay alert. Please have a plan. Please stayed armed. Enough is Enough.", accompanied by hashtags calling for an end to violence.
Later that same day, she commented on Wayne County's high number of Concealed Pistol License (CPL) holders in Michigan while criticizing Democratic policies affecting gun rights. She stated "Great point- WAYNE COUNTY does have the highest # of CPL holders in Michigan. Which is why it blows me away that they allow Democrats to continue in infringe on our 2nd Amendment Right to carry and defend ourselves." advocating for constitutional carry laws in Michigan.
