The plan includes measures to combat the influx of fentanyl by increasing penalties for its creation, manufacturing, delivery, or possession. Additionally, it calls for the enforcement of state and federal immigration laws in every Michigan community.

In 2023, a substantial amount of fentanyl was seized at the border, highlighting the severity of the issue. Bellino emphasized the concerning 860% increase in fentanyl seizures compared to 2019, underscoring the potential harm posed by the influx of such dangerous substances.
