LANSING, Mich. - In response to Governor Gretchen Whitmer's 2024 State of the State address, Senator Joseph Bellino expressed his hope for bipartisan collaboration in order to address the concerns of the Michigan people. The Republican senator emphasized the need for lower taxes and assistance for families struggling with the rising costs of living.

Bellino asserted that it is imperative for Democrats to reach out and work together with Republicans to find common ground on important issues. He highlighted the importance of improving education for all students, allocating state funding to vital services and long-term investments, such as fixing local roads, and allowing individuals to retain more of their money rather than growing the size of the state government.

Regarding the state's economy, Bellino stressed the need to reduce regulations and taxes to enhance competitiveness in attracting new talent, jobs, and business investments. He criticized the use of government red tape and taxpayer handouts to foreign corporations, emphasizing that such measures are counterproductive and fail to yield long-term positive outcomes.

Bellino expressed concern over the decline of Michigan under Governor Whitmer's leadership and called for the implementation of proven and pro-growth policies to revitalize the state and improve the lives of its residents.

It is evident that Senator Bellino is eager to see progress and collaboration between the two major parties in Michigan.
