Please join us in congratulating our Monroe Public Safety Department, 2022 Firefighter of the Year, Matthew Tata . Firefighter Tata was nominated for this award by Fire Commander Smiley and supported by his fellow firefighters, citing his great dedication to the department, leadership, exceptional firefighting and EMS skills, and his mentorship to the new firefighters that have joined us.
Firefighter Tata is a paramedic and recently completed Instructor Coordinator (IC) training. This was a 6-month course that included 170 hours of training of class time and student teaching which will allow him to teach EMS training and continuing education credits.
Firefighter Tata was recognized for this achievement at the March 6th, City of Monroe Council Meeting.
Again, congratulations Firefighter Tata on your well-deserved recognition.
