Dundee Fifth Graders begin DARE

Dundee Fifth Graders begin DARE

Dundee Elementary School 5th graders began instruction in the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program this month and are currently up to lesson 3.

DARE covers a variety of topics including the dangers and consequences of improper or illegal use of drugs including tobacco and alcohol, steps to prevent bullying and developing a strategy for good decision making.

Dundee Police Officer/School Resource Officer Jeff Corie and Monroe County Sheriffs Deputy John Bills teach the class.  All of the educational materials for the program are provided by Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough through a grant from the Knabusch Foundation of Monroe. Thank you both.

Graduation will be held in December.
