Transportation Department has updated the bus routes for 2022-2023

The Transportation Department has updated the bus routes for 2022-2023. Use this link to find the stop closest to your house: https://docs.google.com/.../1HAajqicikk8JLg.../edit...

You will notice a new addition to the stop information. There is now an APPROXIMATE time shown for each stop. The times are computer generated in our routing software so that software assumes that there is no traffic, weather issues and that all students would be out and ready to board the bus as soon as the bus opens its doors.

HOW FAMILIES CAN HELP KEEP BPS BUSES ON SCHEDULE:

-- Children should be at their designated stop 10 minutes prior to pick-up time.

-- Once the bus stops, it is not the time to leave the house or a waiting car.  Children should be ready and waiting safely near the curb to immediately board the bus once it stops.

-- Please do not use the bus stop time to have your children pose with the bus to take first day photos. This significantly slows down the rest of the route.

-- Parents are encouraged to walk to the stop with their young child(ren) for the first day or two. Young Fives/ Kindergarten students without older siblings will not be dropped off without an adult present to get them off of the bus.

Routes may continue to be adjusted over the next few days to accommodate additional new student registrations which may also impact stop timing currently shown.

Please check back to confirm stops and times.

WHAT HAPPENED TO “WHERE’S THE BUS?”

The district's contract with Samsara has expired and the district is in the process of switching to a new vendor. Buses will be outfitted with new hardware but that is not expected to be fully operational for the beginning of school.  In the meantime, the “Where’s the Bus?” links will connect with a Google Doc families can check for delays on routes. If a delay is less than 10 minutes, it will not be included there. The direct link to that document is: https://docs.google.com/.../1tGNz9QLZI6R6SbR83GpS.../edit...

We realize that this was a popular feature with families and we apologize for the inconvenience as we transition from one service to another. We look forward to introducing you to a new and improved version later this year.

If, at any time,  you have any bus concerns, please use this Transportation Reporting Form to share it with the staff in the Department: https://forms.gle/nzunnNezuzVDd1CT6
