Inspired by a group of influential women as early as early as 1955, civic-minded leaders from across Monroe County came together to explore the idea of establishing a community college. Thanks to the inspired planning, hard work and cooperation of this group, on June 29, 1964, Monroe County voters approved the creation of Monroe County Community College by a nearly 2-1 margin.
On Friday evening, the college officially dedicated a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility designed specifically for student success as Founders Hall in honor of those who made MCCC possible.
