Ferris State University has announced dean’s list students

Announcement

Monroe High School issued the following announcement on Feb 20.

Congratulations to all of our former Trojans on their college accolades, and of course, their college graduations!  We are very proud!!  

COLLEGE NOTES

Ferris State University

Ferris State University has announced dean’s list students and recent graduates.

On the dean’s list for the fall semester are: Gage Draper, Nicole May, Lauren Lukitsch, Anjoli Konja, Dandre Head, Lillian Wojtowicz and Jacob Szymankiewicz of Brownstown Township; Alec Balogh of Carleton; Grace Fletcher of Dundee; Baileigh Elliott of Ida; Carson Clark, Heather Osborn and Luke Bilan, of Monroe; Emma Polski of New Boston; Kyle Haener of Newport; Madison Hurley of Petersburg, Noah Hornby of Rockwood; Rachel Gamble of Temperance, and Jonah Ottenbreit, Cameron Schleicher and Jacob Norris of Trenton.

Graduating after fall semester were: Gage Draper of Brownstown Township, with a bachelor’s degree in pre- optometry; Hunter Cleland of Carleton, bachelor’s in plastic engineering technology; Grace Fletcher of Dundee, bachelor’s in finance; Carson Clark of Monroe, bachelor’s in construction management; Emma Polski of New Boston, associate’s in pre- science and a bachelor’s in pre- physical therapy; Nicole Rice of South Rockwood, bachelor’s in nursing; Rachel Gamble of Temperance, bachelor’s in dental hygiene; Jacob Norris of Trenton, bachelor’s in business administration, and Dylan Pasquali of Trenton, bachelor’s in business administration.

Saginaw Valley State University

UNIVERSITY CENTER – Several area students earned academic honors for the fall, 2021 semester at Saginaw Valley State University.

On the president’s list are: Bethany Schalm of Flat Rock, Summer McKenna of Monroe, Denver Milam of Temperance, Katherine Finley of Trenton and Amelia Corne of Newport.

On the dean’s list are: Brendan Bellor, Melanie Chapa, Colin Howard and Allison Weber of Brownstown Township; Lily Harris, Reagan McNamee and Makiya Tunstull of Flat Rock; Taylor Wegener of Ida; Katherine Bess and Claire Dushane of Monroe; Camille Gray of New Boston; Sierra Masson and Jocelyn Metz of Newport; Emily Holup of Ottawa Lake; Rowan Brittain, Brady Nowak, Seth Oxer and Aubrie Zeunen of Temperance; Jules Degenkolb, Dayna Franzel, Samuel McKee, Bailey Wilson and Ean Purcell of Trenton.

MCCC

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the FIERF Forging Foundation Scholarship ($ 500) to Blake Lambert and David Pienta.

Lambert of Monroe is a 2020 graduate of Monroe High School. He is pursuing an associate of applied science degree in manufacturing technology. He was a member of University of Toledo’s Rocket Marching Band and Heritage Baptist Church’s Band. He is the son of Phillip and Deanna Lambert.

Pienta of Monroe is a 2021 homeschooled graduate. He is studying welding technology and is a member Phi Theta Kappa. Pienta is a member of the American Bladesmith Society-Apprentice Smith. He is the son of Diana and Daniel Pienta.

Northwood University

MIDLAND – Michael Hoffer of Monroe earned first- place honors Feb. 12 when the Northwood University Business Professionals of America team competed at the BPA State Conference at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.

“As a result of strong all- around performances, Northwood had over 70% of its team qualify for the BPA Nationals competition, and they are ready to make the trip to Dallas, Texas, this coming May,” the university said.

The team competed in a multitude of categories, earning 40 top- three finishes.

“This is an impressive feat, considering the stiff competition against the likes of Alma College, Central Michigan University, Davenport University, Montcalm CC and Lake Superior State University/ Bay College,” Julie Adamczyk, team adviser, said.

GRADUATION

MOUNT PLEASANT – Alison Treece of Monroe graduated Dec. 18 with a bachelor of science degree in advertising and marketing from Central Michigan University.

A 2017 graduate of Monroe High School, she is the daughter of Jim and Mari Treece of Monroe.

She is currently working as an admissions coordinator at MediLodge of Taylor and is pursuing a career in marketing and advertising.
