Michigan's top officials have been rebuking residents for the spread of COVID-19, claiming citizens aren't respecting lockdown orders, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.
Robert Gordon, director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), is accusing Michigan residents for the vast spread of COVID-19. He says citizens aren't acknowledging the various regulations and lockdowns that have been devised by his agency.
Gordon recently expanded a lockdown that blocks restaurants and bars from allowing indoor dining in their establishments until at least Sunday, Dec. 20.
“Because COVID is everywhere in our state and because sadly... we still have a lot of folks who are... we’re not doing all the things we need to do... If we are all doing those things, we will get the virus under control,” Gordon said on the radio program Michigan's Big Show. “But we’re doing these things partly, not all the way, so the virus continues to spread.”
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Gordon, along with other state officials, have frequently blamed Michiganders for the predicament the state has found itself in concerning the spread of the coronavirus.
