The City of Monroe issued the following announcement on March 20.

The Monroe County Health Department has announced that a third case of Coronavirus has been confirmed within Monroe County.

The Monroe County Health Department (MCHD) has confirmed a third count of positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the county.

And adult male joins the two adult females who had previously been confirmed cases. As of Thursday afternoon there were 108 individuals currently being tested.

The MCHD continues to work closely with each positive confirmed individual to identify and contact others who may have been potentially exposed. Individuals who have been in contact with the confirmed cases will be notified as part of the investigation as necessary.

These individuals will not be provided identifying information about the case, but only that they have been named as a contact and will be instructed on next steps for medical monitoring or testing as needed. The MCHD encourages everyone to practice the prevention and mitigation strategies as recommended.
