Rep. Jamie Thompson, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, recently posted several comments on social media addressing both legislative issues and interactions with fellow lawmakers.

On August 28, 2025, Thompson wrote: “Social media is already full of people sharing their hot flash horror stories, funny memory lapses, and midnight fan-club initiations – when you find yourself standing in front of the freezer at 2 a.m. If we can laugh about it together, we can certainly legislate on it together”. The post referenced common experiences related to menopause and suggested that shared humor could help drive legislative action.

Later that evening and into the next day, Thompson addressed colleagues directly in two additional posts. On August 29, 2025, she commented: “Dang gurl! Looks like you got a girl crush. It’s a little creepy all of your TikTok’s are about the Speaker. @MaiXiongMI @RepMattHall”. In another post from the same date, she added: @RepMattHall you may wanna look into a ppo. She seems a little stalkerish and cra-cra.

Thompson’s remarks come amid ongoing debates in state legislatures about health policy and decorum among elected officials. As a representative in Michigan’s House, Thompson has participated in discussions regarding women’s health issues as well as broader questions around conduct between lawmakers.
